Maga Sphere Mystery

So, I was just playing through the game again and I'm at Yafutoma. I went and talked to Mikado and he said that the Maga Sphere was buried and lost forever and blah blah blah. If that's so, how come it's got it's own little pedestal and fancy igloo thing housing it? I mean really, if it were covered up by lava and lost forever, how does it wind up all perfectly preserved?

Well, maybe they meant that it's placed deep within the mountain. But it's been a while since it was last used, so the real story could've been a little twisted over the years.
