Sorry I've taken so long to respond Sad

When I was researching the compression used in the GameCube version, I wrote a little command line utility for compressing and decompressing the game files.

I put it up on Dropbox if you want to try it out: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/65297845/aklz.rar

To decompress a file:
aklz -d inputFileName.sct -o outputFileName.sct

-d for decompress
-o for output

I haven't touched it in a long time, but it probably works?

Thankyou. I didn't try it yet, but I just randomly looked here again hoping you replied. If I ever look at the game again, I'll be sure to try to use it. =)

I could ask about same thing... Or at least would be good, if someone will show where I can read about AFNT or post AFNT file structure and rules of depacking and packing here.
Google says nothing about AFNT... like it do not exist
Also, your tool aklz do not depack fontdata.eu

Code:

Sections:
1: CPack! ID. Always 0x435061636B210100 (8 bytes)
2: Uncompressed file size. (4 bytes)
3: Always 0x00000100 (4 bytes)
4: Absolute address of compression type (?) (4 bytes)
The compressed data follows immediately after.
The value this points to is 1 or sometimes 2 bytes. Ignores nulls?
5: Address of... (next section? end of data? Always points to eof, or 1 or 2 bytes before eof) (4 bytes)
6: Compression type? This is the value referenced by 4 above (1 or 2 bytes)
Depending on the size of the file, there are a number of entries between #5 and #6.

ADnova
In Echelon version Skies of Arcadia files are compressed LZO algorithm

Hello honored ADnova, Smile

I'm hoping that you read this... maybe someday. I'm working on a command line tool called ALX to extract the game data from Skies of Arcadia Legends (NTSC-U and PAL-E) as well as Eternal Arcadia Legends (NTSC-J). It is written in Ruby and is able to export and import the data to and from CSV files. My project supports almost everything:
But, a little piece is missing: All enemy stats. I knew the uncompressed data format already. However, the AKLZ compression algorithm is a big mystery for me. Sad Would you be so kind and provide the source code of your AKLZ tool?
