Wow, I can't believe this site still exists. Fortuitous though, because now it can have something to report on again. A new SoA-alike game called Nostalgia is coming out for DS and being localized by a studio lead by one of SoA's champions in print, ex EGMer Shane Bettenhausen.
Not convinced that it could be what you've been waiting for? Watch this:

I know OMFG. Then go here:
http://www.nostalgiads.com/
This is the US site, if you need further convincing, just listen to the music and read about the ship battle system.
It may have a different plot and characters but damn if that isn't just like Skies. From the character and ship designs to the way the cinemas and gameplay look. If it wasn't based in alternate history 19th century it would be too close for copyright.
You're welcome. |

Haha, that really does look similar. It is almost like they're not even trying to hide it.
I'll have to keep my eyes on this. |

Wow, it really, really is basically SoA2. They named it Nostalgia because they were nostalgic for SoA while making it :V |

If it has the awesome exploration and unanswered mysteries built into the lore, I'm in. |

Wow no one even remembers when I pointed this out in another topic a while ago. Well it's just one more reason for me to get a DS. _________________

We remember it, it just had way less information back then. Now that we have all this, it is much more obvious. |

That's pretty remarkable. That looks like a Delphinus fighting a Gigas near the end there. _________________ Pucker up and kiss the asphalt now. |

Necro bump!
Found it today for $17 at Best Buy, some kinda half-off sale on certain games. Hopefully it's as SoA-ey as it looks! _________________ -ShinChuck |
