|
|
Hey, everyone! I'm in Taiwan right now and I saw Skies of Arcadia for PC selling for $200 NT, which is about 6 or 7 US Dollars. I really want to buy it because that way I can play Skies on my laptop whenever I want. The game is probably in Japanese, though, so I would only be able to understand some of it. There are other Dreamcast games for PC, like Dead or Alive, Capcom vs SNK 2, and King of Fighters.
But it seems like it would be wrong to support piracy. What do you guys think? _________________ tw |

Asside from running SOA on a Dreamcast emulator, thats the first I've heard of SOA running on the PC (bootleg or not). I'd pick it up just to see if it worked (which I'm kind of doubting). |

Well, I'll buy a copy and see if it works. Note that they not only had Skies, but also other DC games, so I think it'll work, because it's not just that one game.
It'll be cool if it works _________________ tw |

This is interesting. Skies for the PC was announced, but it just dropped off of the coming soon list on Sega of Japan's website, and searching found no other info about it. It is possible that this was released with little fanfare, I will do a few searches now. Keep us updated if you buy it. |

I haven't heard anything about this, other than it was cancelled. If this is real then that would be awesome. Hurry up and tell us if it is or not. |

Dreamcast Emulator, click on "Chankast".
Not sure where the disk images are and I couldnt post them here if I did, but some people in IRC have it and might be able to send it to you. |

Well, it turns out that the CD used Chankast, so it's not official at all. . On the other hand, the CD does include useful utilities like Daemon Tools for mounting the CD and some VMU tools. I'm kind of disappointed that they ripped off Chankast, but at least I'll be able to play Skies on PC now :-/. Chankast is far from perfect emulation, though, there's sound problems and video problems, but then I'm using a computer with integrated video and sound chips. I also got Metal Slug Advance on PC, by the way, it's also an emulator, but the game boy game emulates much better. _________________ tw |
